Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas is set to go under the knife next year for a $100 million-plus refurbishment that will add news ways for guests to thrill and chill. The much-anticipated amplification had originally been scheduled for 2020.

“From the new Icon and Utopia of the Seas to now the more than $100 million transformation of Allure of the Seas, we’ve upped the ante threefold on the different ways vacationers can get away and make memories…” said Jay Schneider, chief product innovation officer at Royal Caribbean International.

Here’s what’s coming.

Thrills

  • Allure of the Seas will receive the multistory trio of waterslides known as The Perfect Storm, comprising the Cyclone and Typhoon racing waterslides, and the Supercell champagne bowl-style slide.
  • For those who don’t want to get wet, the Ultimate Abyss provides 10 stories of twists and turns.
  • The H2O Zone on Allure will be transformed into Splashaway Bay with smaller sides, water cannons, fountains, pools, and two drench buckets.

  • The adults-only Solarium will now feature a Samba Grill and a new dedicated bar.
  • The newly reimagined Caribbean-style pool deck will feature two locations of The Lime & Coconut bar.

Food & fun

  • Lovers of Mexican food will love the addition of the line’s popular El Loco Fresh eatery.
  • Already a hit on Utopia of the Seas, the Pesky Parrot is making its way to Allure of the Seas, serving up fruit-based cocktails, frozen drinks, and a snippy animatronic parrot.
  • Whether cruisers want to catch a live game or play arcade classics, they’ll be able to do so at Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade.
  • Allure of the Seas will be the third ship in the fleet to get the southern comfort eatery, The Mason Jar, where comfort food and live country music are on the menu every night.
  • The Apollo 18: Lunar Landing escape room will be perfect for families and friend groups as they race to figure out how to land Apollo 18 before time runs out.
  • Younger cruisers will love the addition of Laser Tag, which sees the Studio B ice rink transformed into a glow-in-the-dark laser tag arena.
  • The kids’ Adventure Ocean club will receive a new layout and additions like the climbable creations at Play Place, hands-on art and science at the Workshop, and physical games at the Arena.
  • Teens will get their own space with the addition of Social298.
